NY & N.J.—July 19, 2007— Health Communication Systems, LLC., a member of the Health Communications Group (HCG) of companies continued its initiative to improve global healthcare with the acquisition of mMD.net, an electronic medical record solution (EMR), from Medical Communication Systems, Inc. (MCS) in Old Bridge, NJ. The transaction is expected to meaningfully contribute both strategically and financially to HCS's future growth as a turnkey community-based EMR company.
mMD.net is a best-of-breed CCHIT certified EMHR solution, recently earning second best overall ranking by the AC Group and winning five prestigious TEPR-2007 and four TEPR-2006 awards. The Microsoft.Net based product suites consist of patient charting, e-prescription, e-labs/diagnostic tests, diseases management, appointment scheduling, billing and accounts receivable, document imaging, workflow management, and community focused portals for patients, providers, and payers based on Continuity of Care Record (CCR), which can be hosted on servers at secure Data Centers and distributed through an ASP Business Model as well as on servers at physicians' offices, if desired.
